Lyrics
VERSE
Soaring high like a butterfly
Music sweeter than a lullaby
Feel like I'm ready to just lose my mind
The rhythm, the symphony, that something inside
Feel like I'm ready to just break away
The freedom, the ecstasy, the culture display
Play me a melody that I can sing
De music haunting me, I want to release it
Jump up and leh meh see you get on bad
Hands up, we representing Trinidad
Put ya hands in de air and show dem
Chorus
We luv de Carnival, we luv de bacchanal and
We luv de Mas in de sun whole day
We luv to have a time, we luv to fete and lime and
We luv to play in the sun whole day
Verse
One by one, two and three
When we move, we move in harmony
There's no difference, no prejudice with you and me
Altogether we moving now as one family
No races, no color, there's no class, no creed
'Cause we happy together, and that's all that we need
Play me a melody that I can sing
De music haunting me, I want to release it
Jump up and leh meh see you get on bad
Hands up, we representing Trinidad
I want ya raise ya hands in de air and show dem
Chorus

"So leh we jump, for de steelband, for de brass band, for de iron, for de... Mas”
Released in 2007, this was the second song done with Destra, with her penning the lyrics, and coming on the heels of “Colours Again” from 2006 with such big expectations. This song was composed on the keyboard, unlike my previous songs which were composed either on the pan or guitar. While everyone wanted another “Colours Again”, I decided to just let the music flow wherever it took me, and seemed far more natural that way. The song pushing the boundaries of what may be considered a song for Panorama, fell outside the traditional music for pan, as well as outside the main power or groovy soca spectrum. However, many people, particularly young people, were singing the song very easily, and Vanessa Hills-Headley was adventurous enough to arrange the song for Golden Hands in Junior Panorama 2007.
The arrangement is planned to be included for Pan in Education II.Junior “Ibo” Joseph of JJ Music Production produced this song, and did a great job as always.
